The Great Stone Viaduct Historical Education Society partnered with the Bellaire Public Library in 2013 to present the 1st Winter Lecture Series providing the public with presentations of local historical topics. The popularity of the Lecture Series over the past 5 years has grown into an annual tradition, and many individuals look forward to these Wednesday night attractions held at the Community Room in the Bellaire Public Library. Now in its 6th year, the Series has been expanded to eight speakers over an eight week period in February and March. All other Wednesday night presentations (see the calendar for details on the two "on the road" lectures) will take place in the Community Room at the Bellaire Public Library at 6 p.m., and will include: February 21, 2018— David Simmons, Senior Editor of Timeline, the scholarly magazine of the Ohio History Connection, whose topic will be: “Bringing Canals to Ohio”
