As we celebrate the 29th Annual Chautauqua Homecoming Days & Bethesda Festival we invite each of you to take a stroll down memory lane and relive the feelings of the days of yore at this historic Methodist Campground. Stroll along the lake, enjoy the beautiful fountain and reminisce under the majestic Oaks at the 29th Annual Epworth Park Chautauqua Homecoming Days & Bethesda Festival on Saturday, July 14 and Sunday, July 15 at Epworth Park, North Main Street, Bethesda, OH. Saturday, July 14 · The day starts out at 8 AM with the ever popular White Elephant sale. · 8 AM the concession stand at the park entrance opens for breakfast with coffee, doughnuts and sausage gravy & biscuits. · 8:30 AM Fishing Contest Registration begins for children ages 2-14 at the Auditorium, Hazen Lodge #251, Bethesda sponsors this event. · 9 AM Epworth Park souvenirs, memorabilia and delicious baked goods are available for purchase. · 9AM Visit the craft show along the avenue with over 40 crafters, vendors, antique dealers. · 9 AM the “Spirit of America” miniature train will once again provide rides around the park. · 9 AM perusing the Chinese Auction items for that one of kind gift. · 10 AM – 2 PM visit more crafters and vendors at Epworth Center, · 11 AM enjoy a delicious Chicken BBQ dinner at the Methodist Church, or · 11 AM Purchase Brats and hot dogs sandwiches at the Auditorium, or · Stop at the park concession stand for a chicken sandwich, hot dog, Coney dog, kraut dog or sloppy joe along with potato salad and baked beans, also enjoy a root beer float, ice cream treat or an apple dumpling. · 11 AM line up of parade participants at Virginia Street. · 11:30 AM Children’s Bicycle Parade (Ages 13 and under) line up at Virginia Street. · 12 Noon Festival Parade. Awards will be presented. · At 2 PM the entertainment begins rain or shine in the open-air-covered auditorium with the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra Brass Ensemble, and · At 6 PM. The Shuman Family takes the stage performing Country, Folk, Rock. Sunday, July 15 · 9 AM the concession stand opens. · The 10:45 AM morning worship service begins in the auditorium with the Pastor Tom Detling from the Bethesda United Methodist Church leading the service. · Noon a Lasagna dinner will be served at the park concession stand as well as sandwiches and other food items. · Noon the White Elephant sale opens. · Noon the Antiques and craft sales, and local artists continue. · Noon “Spirit of America: train rides begin. · Noon the Chinese Auction continues. · *The Bethesda Car Show sponsored by the Bethesda-Belmont-Morristown Rotary Club begins with registration from 11 AM to 2 PM. The car show is from 12 noon to 4PM. There is a $8 registration fee and dash plaques for the first 75 entries. Trophies presented to winners. DJ Frank Prebeg will offer your favorite oldies music. Food and beverages are also available plus door prizes, and a 50/50 drawing. *The car show will take place on the West side of Epworth Park at the corner of Lake and Virginia Streets. · 1 PM Purchase Brat sandwiches at the Auditorium. · 2PM in the auditorium, entertainment begins with the multi-talented bluegrass band, Almost Famous. · All shows go on rain or shine in the open-air covered auditorium.
